Annika Huish served as Mountain View High School’s (Mesa, AZ) first female Student Body President in over a decade, graduated in the top 10% of her high school class, and scored in the top 1% of the nation on the ACT. Mountain View recognized Annika’s efforts as Student Body President with the Student Council Officer of the Year Award. Annika also earned the Student Government Leadership Award and her Student Council won the Honor of Distinction Award.
Annika was selected as the 2010 Arizona’s Junior Miss, runner-up, and was elected Governor at the 2009 American Legion Girls’ State and is presiding at this year’s Girls’ State. Annika has also excelled in athletics, earning the United States Army Reserve National Scholar Athlete Award and leading her 5-A Varsity Tennis team as Captain. She twice finished in the top 3 in the 5-A State Tennis Tournament and was named to the 1st Team All-Region Tennis Team four times. In addition to various community service positions, Annika is an accomplished pianist and vocal performer.
Annika is the daughter of Karl and Darcey Huish and will attend Brigham Young University on a full-tuition academic scholarship this fall. Annika also earned the Toro Friendship Scholarship Award and the Wells College Leadership Scholarship ($40,000).
