Lacey Nymeyer was recently named the 2009 NCAA Women’s Athlete of the Year.  At the 2008 Summer Olympic Games in Beijing, she won a Silver medal in the 400m Free Relay and competed in the 100m freestyle individually.  Lacey has won five world championship medals including gold in the Women’s 800m Free Relay at the 2007 World Championships, and setting an American Record in the 800m Free Relay at the 2009 FINA World Championships.

Lacey graduated from the University of Arizona with a degree in Physical Education.  She led the university’s swimming team as a two-year captain to the program's first NCAA Championship team title in 2008.  She was also a two-time NCAA national champion individually in the 200 yard and 100 yard freestyle and was a member of multiple relay team titles. Lacey has set American, NCAA and US Open records as a member of Arizona's relay teams, and is a 26-time All-American.

The University of Arizona recognized Lacey’s achievements and talents by awarding her the Ruby Award for top female student athlete.  While a member of the University of Arizona’s swimming team, Lacey was named Pac-10 Swimmer of the Year (2007 and 2008).  Lacey’s success comes as a direct result of her work ethic.  To prepare to be her best, she swims between two and a half to five hours each day, six days a week, with weight room workouts, dry land exercises and running on top of the time in the pool.

A graduate of Tuscon’s Mountain View High School, Lacey is engaged to be married April 29th.  She presently is working to provide swim events around the country to share her passion and to help young athletes achieve their full potential in and out of the pool.
