Lindsey Brinton was named the 2008 America’s Junior Miss and won over $62,000 in scholarships. Lindsey’s breadth of talents and engaging personality earned her the prestigious title, and she has spent the last year traveling the country speaking to youth about the Be Your Best Self program. As America’s Junior Miss, Lindsey was interviewed by Diane Sawyer of ABC’s Good Morning America and Harry Smith of CBS’s The Early Show.
An accomplished pianist, Lindsey won First Prize at the renowned Bartok-Kabalevsky-Prokofiev International Piano Competition. With her mother and sister, Lindsey has performed at Carnegie Hall in New York City, in addition to performances in Egypt and Italy. The October 2007 cover story of The New Era Magazine featured Lindsey and her family, highlighting their teamwork and family traditions. Lindsey was also featured on Footsteps in Faith.
Lindsey served as Student Body President at West High School in Salt Lake City and was elected Homecoming Queen. She made time for athletics, too, participating on her high school’s varsity tennis and basketball teams. Lindsey worked hard in the classroom and was named a Thomas S. Monson Presidential Scholar. At the annual Deseret News/KSL Television Sterling Scholar Competition, Lindsey was named the General Sterling Scholar for the entire state of Utah, in addition to winning the title of State Music Sterling Scholar. Lindsey presently studies economics at Harvard University where she participates on the Women’s JV Basketball team, sings in the University Choir, and performs with the Harvard Expressions Dance Company.
